At Maumee Valley Fabricators, we welcome challenging heavy steel fabrication projects. This weigh deck and transfer car was fabricated for our customer in the steel mill industry. The deck and car is used to transfer the steel ladles from the scrap yard to the mill furnace. All components were subject to pre-machining inspection to ensure that material and dimensions were to customer specifications.
This project gave us the opportunity to employ the full range of our fabrication capabilities including forming, bending, cutting, milling, turning, and welding. The deck and car is made of carbon steel and fabricated to tolerances of ±.005" and underwent both in-process and final inspection throughout the fabrication process. After fabrication the deck and car was assembled and painted to customer specifications. The final assembly is 13' x 32' x 5' and was completed with a total turnaround time of 14 weeks to our customer in Delta, OH.
